In 2023, we mark the 70th anniversary of the victory in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. To revisit the glorious history of our revolutionary forebears’ heroic struggle, to carry forward and uphold the great spirit of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and to educate and guide Party members and cadres to remember this great victory, inherit the red lineage, and draw strength to forge ahead, we visited the Dandong Memorial Hall of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea to study and receive education in revolutionary traditions.
At the memorial hall, the docent’s impassioned narration transported everyone back to the fiery years of war 73 years ago. Each photograph, each artifact, and each passage of text allowed visitors to deeply appreciate the glorious history and enduring spirit of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. Huang Jiguang, who bravely blocked a machine-gun embrasure at the cost of his life; Yang Gensheng, who resolutely hurled himself with a bundle of explosives into the enemy ranks, perishing alongside them; Qiu Shaoyun, who endured the searing flames without the slightest movement; Han Decai, the aerial hero who shot down numerous enemy aircraft—these volunteer soldiers erected the nation’s dignity with their lives and watered the flower of peace with their blood. It is precisely because of these most courageous and lovable heroes that we enjoy today’s hard-won happiness.
During the study tour, the Group convened a General Managers’ Meeting. The Group provided an overview of its overall production and operations, the status of key initiatives, and the issues identified through inspections and field surveys; individual companies reported on their progress in business operations and market development; and senior management emphasized relevant matters within their respective areas of responsibility as well as the priority tasks for the next phase. Finally, Chairman Wang Denning delivered comments and a keynote address, calling for further emancipation of mind, proactive pursuit of change, and resolution of the principal constraints hindering the enterprises’ survival and development. He also urged exploration of new models and approaches to corporate management and operations, strengthened interaction and exchange among subsidiaries, and, through optimization, integration, reform, and innovation, built sustainable competitive advantages to drive high-quality enterprise development.
This study-and-team-building tour integrates the quarterly general manager’s meeting with education in revolutionary traditions and opportunities to appreciate the beautiful landscapes of our motherland. While engaging in traditional education and enjoying the natural scenery, participants also use meetings and exchanges to further align their thinking and clarify the company’s development direction.
Everyone expressed that the group’s organization of this study tour and team-building activity has deepened their appreciation for the hardships endured by revolutionary pioneers in founding the nation and building enterprises. They should cherish their platforms and positions, fulfill their duties with a sense of responsibility, strive for excellence, carry forward and promote the Humon spirit, stay committed to their posts, pioneer and innovate, and never slack off. In addition, they should further implement and refine the group’s development plan and working ideas to ensure the successful completion of all targets and tasks.
